If Saturday night's all right for fighting, then the Los Angeles Dodgers went into Petco Park and threw haymakers at the San Diego Padres.

Freddie Freeman and Kyle Tucker both went 3-for-5, Yoshinobu Yamamoto got the win, and Miguel Rojas pitched the ninth inning. That spells out some of the story as the Dodgers put on their hitting shoes and notched a 15-3 victory.

Padres reliever Randy Vasquez took the loss as Dodgers hitters just teed up his pitches and made him simply look foolish. In 3.1 innings, Vasquez gave up eight hits, seven runs (five earned), walked one, struck out one, and allowed two home runs.

Yamamoto Goes to 8-5 This Season

What about Yamamoto? He went to 8-5 this season as Yamamoto worked six effective innings. Yamamoto allowed five hits, two earned runs, walked two, struck out four, and gave up a home run.

Tucker, Mookie Betts, and Dalton Rushing all sent Padres pitches over the fence at Petco Park. There were a lot of Dodgers fans in attendance in San Diego so, whenever the Dodgers did something good, the fans roared their approval.

Los Angeles and San Diego traded single runs through the game's first five innings, then the Dodgers stopped playing with their food. A nine-run sixth inning was the dagger in Saturday night's game. Freeman doubled to open the inning, and Max Muncy reached base on an error. Freeman scored on the play, too.

Tommy Edman hit his first triple this season and Muncy came all the way around from first base to pop up another run, taking a 3-1 lead. Tucker then stepped up and smashed his seventh home run over the right-field wall, making it 5-1 Dodgers.

Rushing came up and blasted a ball out of the park, too, in helping Los Angeles up the ante over the Padres. It was Rushing's ninth home run this season.

Alex Freeland walked, followed by a Shohei Ohtani single. At this point, Vasquez was pulled from the game and replaced by Ron Marinaccio. He then walked Andy Pages to load the bases. Freeman's RBI groundout raised Los Angeles' lead to 7-1.

Betts Goes Yard Against Padres

Betts cleared the bases with a three-run homer, his 11th homer this season, and the Dodgers reached double-digit runs at 10-1.

In the eighth inning, after the Padres closed within 10-3, Ohtani singled, Pages walked again, and Freeman hit a sharp single to right field. This loaded the bases once again, setting up Los Angeles for a chance to score additional runs. Muncy hit an infield single, bringing home Ohtani for an 11-3 Dodgers lead.

Edman then hit an RBI groundout, bumping Los Angeles up 12-3. Tucker then hit a two-run single, scoring Freeman and Muncy for a 14-3 Dodgers' advantage. With two outs in the top of the ninth, Pages smashed a ground-rule double. Ryan Ward followed with an RBI single, putting the cap on a big night at the plate.

Final score: Dodgers 15, Padres 3.

These two longtime rivals will wrap up this three-game weekend series on Sunday afternoon.
