Ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers scratched two prospects from their minor league games.
Zyhir Hope and Kendall George were both scratched from the lineup of Double-A Tulsa’s game tonight, less than 48 hours before the deadline.

The news of Hope and George’s absence comes as momentum of a Tarik Skubal trade has been growing within MLB circles.
The Dodgers, who are favored to get Tarik Skubal by MLB insiders, have been the team most linked to the Detriot Tigers ace.

Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal (29) walks off the mound after pitching the second inning against Philadelphia Phillies at Comerica Park in Detroit on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Los Angeles has the outfield prospect depth to give up without hurting much and a deep pool of pitching talent to satisfy the Detriot Tigers.
Hope, specifically, has been mentioned as a player who could be on the move this offseason, especially among the minor leaguers the Dodgers are reportedly higher on, like Mike Sirota and Josue De Paula.
Additionally, Kendall George is an intriguing player with elite speed who would add something different to a Tigers team that doesn’t have much quickness.
Hope and George, on their own, will not be the full package. Emmet Sheehan, Justin Wrobleski, or River Ryan are all candidates to provide some MLB-ready pitching, and all three meet those criteria.
Reports have mentioned Sheehan as a player of interest to the Tigers, alongside Hope. Those two have been expected to be part of the package; the question has been what else the Dodgers part with.
When could a Tarik Skubal trade be finalized?
The Dodgers and Tigers could reach an agreement at any time if Detriot likes their return. The Tigers are incentivized to wait as long as possible, likely until the last minute, to squeeze as much as possible from teams.
However, if teams are hesitant to pay the price that the Dodgers are, waiting will be pointless. The combination of talent that LA can offer is overwhelming.

Other than Skubal, the Brewers are the only team with comparable prospects, but they are built on keeping their pipeline flowing with cost-controlled talent.
A Tarik deal, at the time of writing, is not done, but the pieces are falling in the Dodgers’ favor.
