The Los Angeles Dodgers took a resounding 9-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the final game of a three-game set Saturday.

The Phillies won the second game of the series with a late rally on Saturday, and the Dodgers made sure to put the game to rest well before that became a possibility in the rubber match.

Starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a fantastic outing, striking out 10 batters across 5.1 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and two walks during his outing.

The Dodgers got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning, as second baseman Alex Freeland hit an RBI double to score third baseman Max Muncy all the way from first.

Right fielder Kyle Tucker bounced back from a rough 0-for-4 night on Saturday and doubled the Dodgers lead in the following inning with a one run single. He finished the day 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The Dodgers doubled their lead yet again in the fourth inning, as Ryan Ward, who came to the bigs to replace the injured Teoscar Hernandez, hit his first big league home run—a solo shot to right field. Freeland hit a solo homer of his own two batters later.

Alex Call came into the game to replace Ward later in the game, and continued his recent hot streak with a two-run single to make the score 6-0.

Two sacrifice flies from first baseman Freddie Freeman and a 431-foot blast from Muncy gave the Dodgers a 9-0 lead, while the Phillies could only muster a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning as a consolation.

With the Padres’ loss to the Nationals on Sunday, the Dodgers improved to 5.5 games ahead of their competition in the NL West, and have quite the cushion as they head to Phoenix for a divisional matchup against a hot Arizona Diamondbacks team.

They’ll hope to carry their momentum from a fifth consecutive series win into Arizona as they continue their quest to three-peat.
