The Los Angeles Dodgers don't need more talent.
That doesn't stop them from trying to get more players with impressive pedigrees, like Nick Senzel.
Senzel is a non-roster invite to spring training for the Dodgers, according to The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
Clearly, that means Senzel doesn't have a straightforward path to the team. But he's a player who was once thought to have immense promise.

Senzel was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee by the Cincinnati Reds.
The 6-foot-1 Senzel can play both infield and outfield, but he's struggled in a way no one expected for most of his MLB career.
Now 30 years old, Senzel has hit just .232 and been worth negative-3.1 Wins Above Replacement in his MLB career.
He has 40 career home runs in 451 games, with 33 steals and 21 caught stealing.
His career OPS is just .662.
Senzel's best campaign was his rookie year in 2019, when he batted .256 with 20 doubles, 12 homers, 14 steals and a .742 OPS.
He hasn't had an OPS of even .700 since then.

Senzel split the 2024 season away from Cincy, with the Nationals and White Sox.
In 2025, he was in the Dodgers' organization with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he hit .252 with a .749 OPS.
He also played six games in the Mexican League, going 13-for-22 (.591) with three homers.
Now, Senzel will take another crack at making the Dodgers as he tries to get back to the major leagues.
