The Los Angeles Dodgers faced an early setback after they were forced to pull out Tyler Glasnow after just one inning. The right-hander exited Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros due to lower back pain.
Glasnow gave up a home run in his first inning and trouble was sensed during the warm-up pitches for the second inning. He called upon Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and the training staff. Upon brief discussion, it was decided to pull the pitcher from the game.
The Dodgers called the bullpen for Jack Dreyer, who handled things on the mound from there.
After the 11-2 win, Glasnow spoke about his back spasms, revealing that he has been carrying this issue since his high school days. The 2024 All-Star went to William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California.

The Dodgers called the bullpen for Jack Dreyer, who handled things on the mound from there. The Dodgers bullpen lineup, headlined by Dreyer, Edgardo Henriquez, Kyle Hurt, Blake Treinen, Tanner Scott and Brock Stewart, combined to give up only one run. Meanwhile, the Dodgers' offense, led by Andy Pages' three home run night, delivered a landslide 11-2 victory to seal the series on the road.

Tyler Glasnow exits but not before making MLB history
In the same game, Tyler Glasnow recorded 1,000 career strikeouts in MLB after he retired Yordan Alvarez. The Dodgers ace became the fastest pitcher in MLB to reach this milestone in just 793 innings.
Glasnow is putting solid numbers in 2026, posting a 3-0 record with a 2.56 ERA before entering his seventh start this season.
