The bad news just keeps coming for Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers.
Starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow appears to have reaggravated his back injury, delaying his return to action, as reported by Katie Woo of The Athletic.
If all had gone according to plan, Glasnow would be nearing his return.
He left the May 6 games against the Houston Astros with back spasms, and he was put on the 15-day IL on May 8.
That expected return shortly after May 23, though, is out the window after Glasnow’s back “flared up,” manager Dave Roberts said.
“Obviously, it’s going to be much further along than the 15 days,” Roberts said.
When will Tyler Glasnow be able to pitch again?
How much longer Glasnow remains sidelined remains to be seen — no target date has been announced — though the team says he did not sustain “a long-term structural injury.”
“He’s gonna take a few days off from throwing, completely kind of reset and re-evaluate,” general manager Brandon Gomes said. “Still don’t think anything. No concern long-term. But a little slower on the front end than we expected.”

Apr 20, 2025; Arlington, Texas, USA; Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (31) comes off the field after he pitches against the Texas Rangers during the first inning at Globe Life Field.
That’s unfortunate for the Dodgers and for Glasnow, who’d had a stellar 2026 thus far.
Through seven games, he has a 3-0 record, 2.72 ERA and 0.832 WHIP, garnering some consideration as a dark-horse candidate for the Cy Young Award.
Who else is hurt for the Dodgers?
Fellow starter Blake Snell is also injured, having undergone surgery for loose bodies in his elbow on Tuesday.
That surgery, using the new NanoNeedle procedure, is intended to help him return to action earlier than originally thought.

Detroit Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal talks to reporters before a game against the Boston Red Sox on May 4, 2026, at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.
Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, possibly the first to undergo the procedure, is already throwing again less than two weeks post-surgery.
Star closer Edwin Diaz also was sidelined for the first half of this season due to loose bodies in his throwing elbow.
Other injured Dodgers pitcher include Brusdar Graterol, who was hoping to return to the big leagues for the first time since 2024 but now might need surgery.
