Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks were hopeful of tying their playoff series against the Indiana Pacers at two games apiece on Sunday night. Not only did the Bucks lose the game by a final score of 129-103 to go down 3-1 in the series, Damian Lillard went down with what appeared to be a torn Achilles.
Following the game, Rivers admitted that things did not look very good for Lillard. A torn Achilles has not been officially diagnosed, but that is the expected result.
“It’s not very promising. I feel bad for him. The guy tried to come back for his team," Rivers said.
Lillard just came back after missing a month due to blood clot issues. He had scored 14 points to go along with seven assists in Game 2 and backed that up with seven points and five assists in Game 3.
After the game was over, Rivers also sent a heartbreaking message about Lillard.
"This is a tough one, honestly. Blood clot, followed by [Achilles]. ... He's just a great freakin' dude, as a teammate and a father. No one deserves it," he said.
Losing both Game 4 and Lillard is a tough blow for Milwaukee. The team will now head back to Indiana to take on the Pacers in Game 5 on Tuesday evening with their season on the line.

Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season, Lillard played in 58 games, averaging 24.9 points per game to go along with 7.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. He also shot 44.8% from the floor and 37.6% from 3-point range.
Game 5 between the Bucks and Indiana will be played at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday night and will be aired on NBA TV.
