LONDON — London Tourism & Parks will host the 2026 Thaw Down at the Branch Disc Golf Tournament this Saturday at Whitley Branch Veterans Park.

The park will be closed to general recreational use during the tournament to ensure participant safety. Officials said the final tee time will be at 5 p.m., with the tournament expected to conclude by 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature a one-round flex start format, allowing players to choose their own tee times through online registration. Participants are asked to check in at the shelter by Hole 1 and are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tee time.

Organizer and tournament director Jordan Infield said the event is open to players of all experience levels.

“This event is fantastic for all skill levels to play. We have divisions for all different skills from beginners all the way through pro divisions,” Infield said. “The course is also set up great for all skill levels.”

Those interested in competing can register online at www.DiscGolfScene.com by searching “Thaw Down at the Branch 2026 Presented by London Tourism & Parks.” At the time of the release, eight divisions had been created with approximately 40 participants already registered.

The tournament continues a growing tradition at Whitley Branch Veterans Park, where disc golf events began in 2020. The Thaw Down at the Branch tournament itself was established in 2022. Infield, who designed the course in 2019, said the layout offers a balance for players of all abilities.

“It’s a park-style course that is suited for all skill levels with challenging out-of-bounds areas,” Infield said.

The tournament is supported by London Tourism & Parks, Infinite Discs and Bluegrass Foster Services. It will be a singles play event, with prizes awarded following the conclusion of play.

Whitley Branch Veterans Park remains open year-round and serves as a shared space for disc golfers and those using walking trails. Officials remind visitors to remain aware of play, while disc golfers are encouraged to be courteous and yield to others to help ensure a safe experience for all.
