When the Tennessee Titans drafted Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, everyone was excited. He entered the facilities with an air of professionalism, treated everyone with respect, talked to everyone he encountered (including the janitorial staff), and made his presence known around the building.

His rookie season may not have been what some expected, and there are a lot of reasons for that, but his performance showed that he truly has the potential to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. Before that can happen, though, the Titans have to make sure he has the support he needs on the field.

A recent CBS Sports article by Jared Dubin addresses the biggest question for each of the 15 first-round picks from 2025, and the question for Ward is fitting:

Did the Titans get Cam Ward enough help?

Ward had one of the worst supporting casts in the NFL last season. His pass-catchers couldn't get open and struggled to actually catch the ball when they did. The offensive line was seemingly broken for most of the year.

Tennessee addressed the first part of that equation by signing Wan'Dale Robinson and drafting Carnell Tate with the No. 4 overall pick. But did the Titans do enough on the offensive line to make sure Ward has enough time to find his targets down the field? We'll find out in September.

It's a valid question, and one that much of the league has been asking now that the majority of roster movement is complete. Key additions include, as mentioned above, Wan'Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate. Daniel Bellinger will also be a key addition this fall, as will the adjustments to the offensive line. The Titans' ground game is anchored by veteran Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, but there are other players who may vie for a rotational role.

The thing is, Ward already had Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, and Gunnar Helm. So adding Robinson, Tate, and Bellinger may very well have been enough to tip the scales, especially with the changes to the offensive line.

This Titans team is not the same team as it was in 2025. There will be a learning curve under new head coach Robert Saleh, but the pieces are there. Now it's up to Saleh and Brian Daboll to get the offense to execute the game plan effectively and efficiently.
