The Boston Red Sox's pitching staff is so good, it may have broken the New York Yankees' offense.

The Red Sox completely stifled the Yankees during their four-game sweep at Fenway Park over the weekend, limiting New York to nine runs, 17 hits and a .130 batting average while racking up 35 strikeouts.

The Yankees' offensive woes followed them home on Monday, where they managed just three runs on three hits in a 7-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers.

Yankees are the first team in American League history to hit under .100 and strike out at least 35 times over a four-game span

New York has had exactly three hits in four straight games, posting the lowest batting average (.098) over a four-game span in franchise history. The Yankees are also the first team in American League history to hit under .100 and strike out at least 35 times over a four-game span.

Granted, they don't have Aaron Judge or Giancarlo Stanton due to injury, but that's still pretty embarrassing, especially considering they played three of those games at Fenway Park.

New York looks totally lost at the plate right now, and it could be in for another rough night on Tuesday against two-time AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, who has 17 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts combined.
