Red Sox Break 38-Year Quality Start Streak Vs. Yankees With 3 Rookie LHP originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox are in the middle of a historic streak, and they're doing it with three rookie pitchers in their rotation.
Rookie Jake Bennett was able to carry his start on Saturday afternoon against the New York Yankees into the seventh inning for the first time in his professional career (Majors and Minors included).
His start marked the 10th consecutive quality start from a Red Sox pitcher. This is the longest such streak since 1988 for Boston pitching and tied the second-longest streak in team history.
Jake Bennett allowed just 1 ER over 6.1 IP against the Yankees. That is the 10th straight quality start by the Red Sox, their longest streak since 1988 and tied for the second-longest streak in team history (since ER became official in 1913)️ pic.twitter.com/uOMdEMYvBZ

The most impressive part of it all is the fact that it is the rookies in Boston's rotation stepping up and getting it done against their rivals.
This time last month, Jake Bennett was pitching in Worcester for the Triple-A team.
The night before that, 23-year-old Payton Tolle carried a perfect game into the sixth inning against the first-place Yankees.
In the first game of the series, rookie Connelly Early went toe-to-toe on the rubber with Cy Young candidate Cam Schlittler and lived to tell the tale.
Three rookies, three left-handed pitchers, and three starts resulting in a combined 19.1 innings pitched and just three runs allowed.
