For native Washingtonians, especially those on the eastern side of the state, one of the coolest aspects of the Seattle Seahawks winning Super Bowl LX was the fact Cooper Kupp was apart of the victory. For years, fans in the Pacific Northwest had to watch the former Eastern Eagle standout forge a Hall of Fame caliber career with the division rival Los Angeles Rams. But last offseason, the stars aligned and a sense of justice was restored as the Seahawks brought Kupp "back home" when they signed him to a three-year deal worth up to $45 million dollars.

The bulk of the guaranteed money owed to Kupp came in the first year of his deal, but a significant portion became vested shortly after the Super Bowl, giving the Seahawks plenty of reason to keep him for the 2026 campaign. Still, while Kupp had financial incentive to play, it's hard to not at least wonder if perhaps the two-time Super Bowl champion may have wanted to ride off into the sunset on the heels of a championship. After all, Kupp will be turning 33 next week and has dealt with injuries in the past - although he remained relatively healthy last year.

Well, if anyone wondered if Kupp was considering retirement, they have their answers. During OTA's, Cooper Kupp spoke emphatically that the thought never crossed his mind.

Cooper Kupp, who turns 33 this month, was asked whether he thought about going out on top after the Seahawks’ Super Bowl win.

“Never for a second,” he said. “I’m loving playing this game too much.”

Kupp hauled in 47 receptions for 593 yards and two touchdowns last year. However, Kupp's veteran presence was felt considerably in the postseason, where he led the Seahawks in receiving in both the Divisional Round and the Super Bowl. Kupp became the first player in NFL history to lead two different teams in receiving yards in a Super Bowl. Now, he is gearing up for another season with the "hometown" team.

As a former Eastern Eagle who was a student at the same time Kupp was tearing it up on the Inferno, this is the best possible news I could hear!
