Kentucky QB.

I expect Brohm to be there, not necessarily Woodson.

You got it backwards. First round QBs are a huge risk but bear great potential rewards. Woodson is worthy of a round 1 gamble, I think. Brohm is not.

Matt Ryan will be THE BPA and will be Miami's #1 overall pick, it says here in small print. After that, I see only Woodson as a potential round 1 QB.

I missed his first round mock on the ESPN ticker last night. Who does he have the Cards taking?
Stewart.

Mendenhall went #28 to the Cowboys.

Other Notables:

Gholston #6
Sam Baker #14
Mike Jenkins #18
Felix Jones #20
Derrick Harvey #26

If Mendenhall is on the board when we pick and we pass on him they will regret it. One only needed to have seen him tear up USC in the Rose Bowl, when all around him were spinning their wheels, to know this kid is the real deal and ready to play on sunday.

Depends on how Woodson does at the Senior Bowl.

Brohm and Ryan drew the critisism of scouts and GMS for falling out of the senior bowl at the last minute with mystery injuries. Just like Brady Quinn last year, and he dropped like a rock.

ahhh, the joys of picking #16

in the top ten, it seems like by draft time the board has their preferred choice for the Cards narrowed down to a couple choices that can get debated

at #16, I am not sure if it will get narrowed down to five--

Mendenhall vs Stewart vs Cason vs Jenkins vs Harvey vs Clady vs Phillips vs Campbell vs Rivers vs Connor

regardless of who gets picked, the only certainty is that somebody will not be happy about it

haha. Truer words than all the above are rarely written on ASFN, especially the bolded ones.

But that's what makes this stuff fun.

Well, I guess Skorp has given up on reading my stuff. I agree (as I wrote)with Mel that Woodson is a round 2 QB. He lacks the arm strength to accurately throw deep. Throwing cross-field is also an issue. He might make it on smarts and competitiveness. He's got grit. He is excellent in the short game.

Brohm is tricky. He's not as much a reflection of the system as some QBs would be in that offense, but he's far from conventional. It will take a period of adjustment and he will be hard to evaluate. I wouldn't take him early, but some desperate team may take the plunge. I doubt he lasts until round 2, but he is far from a sure thing.

Whoa, Harry. What stuff you wrote on QBs in the draft? Just looked on the front page. Can't find anything.

i agree. I can see Ryan going #1 to Miami. Their GM was on yesterday and he said they will look at the QB position.Parcells likes his 1st overall QB's.

Hey Skorp,

Look at the Off to the Off-Season initial article, I said Woodson should be there in round 2 and might last until the Cards select, though I wouldn't go that way on the QB situation.

I was just teasing, BTW.

Brohm and Woodson have warts. They are not round 1 talent. Brohm has a weak arm and is small. Woodson is pocket slow. Both are shotgun snap QBs.
