After a man fell from a second‑level railing at Chase Field following a game, the Arizona Diamondbacks said all safety measures were working as intended.
The team said it had reviewed the fall on April 1 and did not plan on making any changes to the stadium safety policies or designs.
“All safety measures were working, are in compliance with code standards, and functioned properly,” the team said in a statement.
The man fell near the west entrance of Chase Field in downtown Phoenix as fans were leaving the ballpark after the Diamondbacks’ beat the Detroit Tigers in a three-game series sweep.
The man climbed onto a railing to take a photo, lost his balance and fell, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
He was injured and taken to a hospital. The Sheriff's Office did not suspect foul play.
The Diamondbacks said they were unable to provide an update on the man’s condition.
