PHOENIX — Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo is not only shaping his role as a cornerstone of the franchise but also establishing himself as one of the game’s top players across MLB.

MLB Network has been unveiling its Top 100 Players Right Now list, and Perdomo landed inside the top 30 at No. 24. The ranking places him among baseball’s elite and reflects his growing influence on the Diamondbacks, driven by his defense, switch-hitting bat and steady leadership.

The 25-year-old shortstop has progressed from emerging talent to one of the league’s most complete players at his position.

The numbers highlight Perdomo’s breakout. He blossomed last season with career highs across the board, hitting .290 with 20 home runs and an .850 OPS. His 100 RBIs were the most ever recorded by a shortstop in franchise history.

Perdomo’s reliability in stressful situations and his ability to deliver in the clutch on both sides of the ball give the Diamondbacks added flexibility and matchup advantages. His presence allows Arizona to construct lineups and game plans with confidence, knowing they have consistency up the middle.

With Perdomo leading the infield, the D-Backs have developed into one of the league’s stronger defensive teams in recent seasons. Pitchers no longer have to rely solely on strikeouts, trusting instead that balls in play can turn into outs or timely double plays with Perdomo anchoring the defense.

After spending several seasons under the radar, the No. 24 ranking brings increased attention to a young, blossoming competitor who has become a crucial piece of Arizona’s success. The Snakes’ development of Perdomo reflects the organization’s patience, vision and trust in allowing players to reach their full potential.

Perdomo’s name may not always hit the headlines like Shohei Ohtani or Aaron Judge, but his placement among the game’s best underscores just how far he has come early in his career.
