According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the DFB and Jürgen Klopp have agreed on a deal for the former Liverpool FC manager to take over the head coaching position for the German national team:

EXCLUSIVE | Jürgen Klopp and the DFB have now reached an agreement in principle.

Breakthrough after yesterday’s negotiations in New York. An agreement in principle has been reached on a contract running until the end of the 2030 World Cup. Only final details remain to be resolved.

Klopp is now just one step away from becoming Germany’s new Bundestrainer. His exit from Red Bull is expected to be finalised with Oliver Mintzlaff in New York by early next week at the latest.

The DFB are planning to announce the agreement with Klopp today.

Plettenberg’s colleague Patrick Berger confirmed the news as well:

BREAKING: Jürgen Klopp (59) and the #DFB reached an agreement last night in New York over a contract running until and including the 2030 World Cup.

Final step: Agreement with RB. Negotiations with Mintzlaff are set to start at the beginning of the week, and Klopp will then be finalized as national team coach for the DFB.

The federation plans, according to the plan, to announce the agreement with Klopp today. w/

This was quick work for both sides as it seems there was a genuine, mutual interesting in fixing what ails the German national team as soon as possible.
