The German Football Federation (DFB) has denied it is holding a major meeting on Thursday which looked set to rubber-stamp Jürgen Klopp as the Germany men's coach.
Sources close to the matter had told dpa that the DFB's supervisory board and stakeholders would meet on Thursday. But the federation has now denied this, saying details still need to be worked on and an invite to such a meeting has not been sent out.
Speculation has been rife that Klopp would be presented on Friday after signing a deal until 2030. That could now be in doubt.
But all the talk from the 59-year-old former Borrusia Dortmund and Liverpool coach, the DFB and his current employer Red Bull has pointed to a deal being done at some point.
Germany need a coach after Julian Nagelsmann was forced to resign following the last-32 exit to Paraguay at the recent World Cup - a third early flop in a row.
