After being picked in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Lions, defensive end Derrick Moore officially signed his rookie contract with Detroit on Tuesday, per KPRC2's Aaron Wilson.

The hard-hitting defender out of Michigan signed a four-year, $11.426 million deal that includes 100% fully-guaranteed money with a $4.038 million signing bonus. According to Spotrac, Moore's 2026 salary cap hit is $2,077,624.

Moore is expected to pair alongside fellow former Wolverine star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to deliver a much more aggressive pass rush and help the Lions limit the impact of the quarterback play both within the NFC North and throughout their 17-game regular-season slate.

The Lions traded up with the New York Jets to go grab Moore at pick No. 44.

Moore, a 6-foot-3, 255-pound EDGE had 10 sacks at Michigan last season. The Baltimore, Md., native had 10.5 tackles for loss, 30 total tackles, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery last season.
