As the Taylor Decker saga played out, many wondered if the time might be right for the Detroit Lions to move three-time first-team All Pro Penei Sewell from right to left tackle.

On Monday, Albert Breer of The MMQB reported that Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that he'd like to move Sewell to left tackle. Campbell told Breer that no final call has been made yet, but "he's ready to do that."

With Decker's release after 10 seasons manning the Lions' left tackle position, it certainly feels as though this is the obvious moment where Detroit would shift Sewell over.

The Lions signed former Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphinsoffensive tackle Larry Borom during NFL free agency. But, Detroit could still be thinking for its long-term answer at offensive tackle at pick No. 17 in the first round of the upcoming 2026 NFL draft.
