Derek Jeter thinks questionable WBC strike call 'guarantees' ABS

Team USA just barely emerged with a World Baseball Classic semifinal win thanks to a third strike call on the Dominican Republic's Geraldo Perdomo that... may have been a ball.

It was that questionable call that had fans furious and everyone wondering if ABS -- the replay system coming to MLB officially in 2026 -- would be implemented for the next World Baseball Classic.

Derek Jeter's take?

"You can pretty much guarantee they’re going to have the challenge system in place for the next WBC, right?" Jeter said on Fox after the game. "You hate to end a game that way, but you give credit to the U.S. They not only pitched well, they hit two home runs, they played great defense."

It's just that call is going to stick with everyone for a while.

Derek Jeter: “Well you can pretty much guarantee they’re going to have the ABS challenge in place at the next WBC. You hate to see a game end that way.”
