Denver Broncos predicted to land 1,000-yard receiver in free agency originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
While it may be difficult to do so, it’s time for Denver Broncos fans to turn to the offseason following the team’s 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
The Broncos will look to improve over the offseason in order to take another step forward and make it to the Big Game next season. One particular area that Denver could look to upgrade is the receiving corps.
Broncos precited to land Alec Pierce in free agency
In a recent article, ESPN’s Aaron Schatz predicts that the Broncos will make a splash in free agency by signing Indianapolis Colts receiver Alec Pierce to line up alongside Cortland Sutton in Denver.
From Schatz:
“After exploring a trade for Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in November, the Broncos will finally get their WR2 by signing the Colts' Alec Pierce. A big, physical receiver who can block and win on contested catches downfield, he's a perfect fit for Nix's play style and Payton's offense.”
Pierce is coming off of his best season in the pros in 2025. He tallied 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns for the Colts and led the league in yards per reception (21.3) for a second consecutive season.
He’s a consistent big-play threat, and his presence in Denver would hope to open things up for quarterback Bo Nix and take some pressure off of Sutton. For those reasons, it would certainly make sense for the Broncos to pursue him in free agency.
However, Pierce will likely have several suitors, including the Colts, who could want to keep him in Indianapolis. So. there's no guarantee that he'll land in Denver.
