DeMar DeRozan has had quite an impressive stretch in the NBA, where he has been one of the best scorers in the game for this generation. He has done it with multiple teams, but his production has remained consistently robust. After achieving his most recent milestone, he has finally gotten some recognition and credit for what his play has earned.
In a recent tweet by the USC men's basketball's account, the Trojans gave DeMar DeRozan his flowers for his great success in the NBA. Here's what they had to say:
"One of the best to ever do it. Congrats to @DeMar_DeRozan on moving up to No. 20 on the NBA's all-time scoring list"
DeMar DeRozan has been one of the more underrated players in the NBA, and although he is not the traditional player that is seen in multiple different variations for today's game, he still is a player who can average 20 on any given night. Prior to this down season, DeRozan went on a 12-season stretch of at least averaging 20 points per game. He has been in MVP conversations at least 3 times in his career.
At the age of 36, DeMar DeRozan is still able to be a productive scorer and be this season's 2nd leading scorer for the Sacramento Kings with 18.6 points per game. Another thing to be appreciated about his season this year is that he has played in all 60 games this season. Not only has his scoring ability been underappreciated, but his reliability as well. His whole career, at the bare minimum, he has played at least 60 games. Some stars in today's game can not even tough that for their max amount of games played in a season.
Hopefully, next season, DeMar DeRozan gets his chance to play for a contender, as he is on the back end of his career. At the very least, DeRozan's impact as one of this generation's top guys will never go unnoticed.
