The Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders had to address a few needs on both sides of the ball. This comes after losing four players to the transfer portal last week. They got three commitments, including a pair of former Tennessee Volunteers on Wednesday.
Safety John Slaughter announced he would be Boulder bound, along with offensive tackle Larry Johnson. The Vols duo joins Sanders and Buffs after time in Knoxville.
Slaughter had six tackles and an interception in 22 games as a reserve for the Vols. The native of Clarksdale, Mississippi was a consensus three-star prospect by all major recruiting services. He was also rated by On3 as the No. 12 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 33 safety in the class.

As for Johnson, his playing time was extremely limited with 15 games in two seasons with no starts. He's was a former JUCO product from Hutchinson Community College before going to Tennessee. Johnson was also noted as a four-star prospect and the No. 5 offensive tackle in the nation, according to On3.

Incarnate Word running back DeKalon Taylor also makes the jump to Colorado. The former three-star rusher split time in the backfield and became a force on special teams over the past three seasons in San Antonio. Taylor had 152 carries for 909 yards and nine touchdowns last year. Colorado's rushing attack was dead last in FBS over the past two seasons, averaging less than 100 yards per game.
He trio pushed Colorado's total to eight transfer portal additions during the spring window. Slaughter joins former Auburn safety Terrance Love and Illinois State cornerback Teon Parks as reinforcements in the secondary.
