I like Miggy... But with Goldy out for the year, this team is entirely unwatchable! LaRussa has an epic reclamation project ahead if him. I seriously can't see how even he will be able to make serious improvement anytime soon. We have no tradable assets. We have 5 players (non-pitchers) who can be considered major league caliber (3 are on the DL), the other two being Miggy and Hill both of them are saddled with huge contracts.
What a disaster...

Why do these Marte's keep playing? Isnt there ANYONE down in our system that would be worth a glance?

^The D'backs have already gone through a handful of minor league outfielders. They have so many of them on the 25 man roster that they had to buy a minor league outfielder from the White Sox to fill out the roster in Reno.

Andy Marte has lit it up at the plate the last three years in the minors. But he is over 30 so nobody really wants him anymore. If the D'backs had an up and coming third basemen, they wouldn't have signed him in the off season.

OUCH. I made a commitment to to to these 3 KC/DBacks games. A good friend of mine is dealing with the loss of his 21 year old daughter. He is from KC and is a huge KC fan, though he has adopted the DBacks as his NL team. Anyway I promised him I would take him to these 3 games. I was going to buy tickets back then, but decided to wait. Now I just buy them outside the ball park for a fraction of the face price.

I can't wait to see how Collmenter fares tonight. That delivery can be deceiving but KC is on a roll and it could get ugly fast (hope not).

On a lighter note, I saw these tickets for sale on CL:

Royals @ DBacks - Thursday (8/7) - $10 (Sect 137 Row 35)

2 TIX. $10/ea. Face $18. I can't go - wife is a (can't use that work here). She thinks me going to pilates is more important. And if you see her, don't tell her you gave me $20. She'll want it to buy vegetables to steam. I want to go behind her back to In-and-Out Burger twice.

You know, it seems like almost every pitcher we face throws hard, mid 90's or so. And it seems like most of our pitchers pitch in the high 80's. I just don't know. Maybe it's my imagination.

Lamb called up to make his debut tonight. "Lamb, 23, has posted impressive numbers throughout his minor league career. A left-handed hitter, he owns a combined .327 average, .407 on-base and .566 slugging between Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno, where he was promoted last week. A sixth-round pick out of Washington in 2012, Lamb has a .321/.406/.553 line in his three-year minor league career."

Lamb can't be all bad. He was born on John Lennon's birthday, just 50 years later.
