May 24—Former Dayton Flyers guard Sean Pouedet will continue his college basketball career at California State University, Bakersfield.
The Big West Conference school announced the signing on Saturday, May 23.
"We're really excited about Sean Pouedet," coach Todd Lee said in a post on X. "He's an experienced point guard who brings high-level leadership and excellent court vision after excelling in Belgium's BNXT League, where he led the league in assists during the 2024-25 season. His maturity and basketball knowledge stood out throughout the process, and we see him as a natural fit to run our offense and elevate the players around him."
Bakersfield finished 8-24 last season and has suffered five straight losing seasons. Bakersfield played last season under coach Mike Scott, who was named interim head coach when Rod Barnes resigned in September. Lee, an assistant coach at Southern California the last two seasons, was hired in March.
Pouedet, a 6-foot-2, 22-year-old native of Belgium, averaged 0.6 points in 5.3 minutes per game in 14 appearances. He signed with Dayton on Nov. 25, arrived on campus in the second week of December and made his debut in a 64-61 loss to Liberty on Dec. 21.
Pouedet did not play in the last five games of the regular season and in three Atlantic 10 Conference tournament games. He played a total of five minutes in three games in the National Invitation Tournament.
Pouedet is the fourth player from Dayton's 2025-26 roster to sign with a new program. All four spent one season or less with the Flyers.
Adam Njie Jr. will play at Hampton next season. De'Shayne Montgomery transferred to Louisville, his fourth school in four years. Bryce Heard transferred to Wichita State, his third school in three years.
