The Arizona Cardinals wrapped up their seven-player class from the 2025 NFL draft last weekend, picking one player in each round. Over the next few seasons, we will find out who ends up being the best player of the group.
But following the draft, people will have their favorite picks.
For Draft Wire managing editor Jeff Risdon, his favorite pick for the Cardinals came in the second round when cornerback Will Johnson fell from the first round into their laps with the 47th overall pick in the draft.
Johnson was considered a top-15 talent in the draft and, after Travis Hunter, was largely viewed as the top boundary cornerback in the draft.
The Cardinals have a lot of cornerbacks on the roster, but he has a higher ceiling than anyone currently on the team.
The question will be his health. He dealt with knee, shoulder and toe injuries in college and then his hamstring in the pre-draft process. Many NFL teams see long-term knee issues for him, even though his knee does not now hurt.
But if Johnson can play at the level he did as a cover guy in college, getting him in the second round will have been an absolute steal.

The playmaking Michigan corner fell out of being a potential top-10 pick due to serious injury concerns. If he's healthy, Johnson is a ridiculous value in the middle of the second round. He's a good schematic fit for the zone-heavy Cardinals, too.
