Free-agent tight end David Njoku, who has played all nine of his NFL seasons for the Cleveland Browns, agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers worth up to $8 million.

The Browns thanked Njoku in a tweet May 11.

Njoku did not play in the Browns' 20-18 Week 18 win against the Bengals in 2025, but he did leave Cincinnati with a jersey signed by Bengals backup quarterback Joe Flacco, Njoku's former Cleveland teammate.

Njoku was a first-round pick of the Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft out of University of Miami. He was a Pro Bowler in 2023.

Njoku finished the 2025 season with 33 receptions for 293 receiving yards with four touchdowns in 12 games. He had three catches for 37 receiving yards against the Bengals in Week 1.

Njoku had 10 receptions for 76 yards with a touchdown in a loss to the Bengals in October 2024.
