David Hamilton Catching Heat From Red Sox Fans After Sudden Improvement With Brewers originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox sent David Hamilton to the Milwaukee Brewers as part of the Caleb Durbin deal, and he has started to look like a completely different player for them.
Hamilton hit below .200 last season in 91 games. He had 13 walks on the year and 19 RBIs. Through eight games with the Brewers, he already has nine walks, four stolen bases and three RBIs. His defense has looked better, and he has also learned to bunt. Red Sox fans online are not happy to see him pick up those skills after leaving their team.
"David Hamilton as a Red Sox was physically incapable of laying down a bunt and now in Milwaukee he finally figures it out," one fan wrote on X.
"David Hamilton (expletive) hates the Red Sox," another fan wrote on X.
"David Hamilton can now: Bunt, Field and Hit after leaving the Red Sox," another fan pointed out on X. "A coaching issue in Boston."
Hamilton is striking out at half the rate he was last year. He has a much better eye at the plate right now, and defensively, he made a diving stop to take a hit away from Roman Anthony in Tuesday's game.

He also had a slick double play to end an inning. One fan thought that he would have thrown the ball away on the same play last year.
The frustrating part of this IKF inning-ending double play is David Hamilton would have thrown this ball into the dugout if he was wearing a Red Sox jersey. pic.twitter.com/idpAbSPcYF

The Red Sox will take on the Brewers in a rubber match on Wednesday, and Hamilton is in the starting lineup at second base.
