Atleast two of those four will be gone next year so I hope the best QB right now starts this year.

You think it will be a fair fight ?

I hope so. As much as I am in Leinart's corner, I hope the best man wins the spot.

Fair would have been never naming a starter during the offseason IMO. Fair isn't always right though, so we shall see.

I am expecting huge strides in Leinart's game, but so many on this board are quick to take Kurt and what he did last year for granted. The guy wasn't a 2 time MVP for nothing, and he showed some amazing stuff last year. It would have been a lot easier for Matt to take the job from a stopgap vet like Kerry Collins or Brunell. Hopefully he has learned more from Warner.

Regardless of who the opening day starter is, I seriously doubt they make it through the season healthy anyhow. Not to mention, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Kurt run the two minute drill again.

So funny, last year my dad came out and started a thread that said he thought Whiz should give Kurt a drive or two each game. Everyone that responded called him an idiot. Low and behold, the next week we played B'more and the two-headed monster was born.

I may be wrong, but didn't we lose the Baltimore game?

Kurt Warner costs his teams as many games as he wins. How quickly people seem to forget how truly deadly he was to this franchise two years ago. I actually hope that Warner is given the starting job, because no quarterback can excel with one eye looking over their shoulder.

I have no problem naming Leinart the QB.It was probably more trying to build his confidence than anything else. It's all on him. If he steps and plays like he should then Warner will be a non-issue. If he struggles then Warner will get the call. I think Leinart will come into his own this year. He can be in the same class as Carson Palmer. He has all the weapons so all he needs to do is perform. We shall see in about 5 weeks.

Are you kidding me???? C'mon Daisy. Leinart stunk it up horribly in Baltimore and Kurt got us back in the game and in a position to win in a quarter and a half. If it weren't for a blown kick by Rackers or a clutch kick by Matt Stover we would have won that game.

How can you honestly say that Warner was deadly to this team two years ago?? He wasn't good, but was far from being the reason we sucked. Honestly, since he has started wearing gloves, his fumbles have seemed way down to me. I am not a fan of all the picks, but he makes more plays than he messes up.

I hope Leinart is ready to take over, but I haven't had confidence in a QB's ability to get us back in a game like Kurt since Tango's prom date was here.

Not trying to instigate here, but warner's numbers were far better than carson's last year and he is always throwing picks.

I am hoping/expecting Leinart to be more in the mold of David Garrard's play last year.

I just hope for a fair competition.

SOMEONE has to be named the starter. I think Whiz being an ex-player understands that someone should be "the guy".

If you look at it objectively both players have some skeletons in their closets.

If you look at it "What have you done for me lately?" Then Warner is the guy. Cause after Leinart's rookie year, which I thought was pretty good for a rookie who held out for a while, he definately regressed in Whiz's system.

But there is no denying that Waner LOST his job to Leinart after some pretty poor play a couple of seasons ago (the Rams game at home comes to mind, UGH) and the second half of last season was the last time in a LOOONG time Warner looked like an MVP.

My stance is that I agree with starting the young guy and naming him your starter going into camp. But the best man should win the job and be starting going into this season. Both guys know the situation coming in so I would find it hard to believe that neither guy is going to bring his "A game".

That game was taken from the Cardinals. They didn't lose it. The call on Wilson was complete BS and gave the game to the Ravens IMO.
Yup, I almost forgot how illegal it is to tackle Todd Heap. We were finally making a stand, after letting McNair dink and dunk us all damn day courtesy of the Pendy Prevent and the ref just screwed us.

I like the QB situation. Either or gives us a chance to win. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

At my job last week I worked next to a Rams fan for 10 hours. He gave me his view on the Cards......

Warner is still one of his favorite players, but with no o-line he is horrible. I know it's obvious, but some seem to forget how terrible our o-line was.

He thinks Edge is one of the better backs in the league still. He just stated that he doesn't get much needed rest during games. He doesn't know who Tim Hightower is.

He likes our WR corp. Says he fears them every game we play the Rams.

He likes Leinart and thinks he is going to be a good one. But he thinks Matt is injury prone and needs Warner to have his back, even if they are competing it's all good to have a good backup. Whichever.

That was Chad Johnson's fault :D. They blame him for everything bad last year.

I hope its not hyperbole! But then I have no reason to believe he's not telling the truth. If he is then this could really be a good year for the Cards!
