Daniel Cormier believes Jon Jones’ arthritis revelation was far from accidental.
Jon Jones sparked widespread debate after footage surfaced of him discussing severe hip arthritis during a public appearance in Houston.
The former UFC heavyweight champion later claimed the exchange was recorded without his knowledge. Cormier, however, has publicly questioned that explanation and suggested there may be more behind the situation.

Cormier questions how Jon Jones was secretly recorded
Jon Jones stated that someone wearing Meta glasses captured the conversation while he was speaking about his hip condition.
He maintained that the discussion was intended to be private and criticised the individual who shared it online.
Daniel Cormier disputed that version of events during a recent appearance on his YouTube channel. He pointed out that the glasses display a visible recording light that would be noticeable at close range.
“It’s very easy to tell if you’re being recorded with the Meta glasses. They’ve got a white light on the side of the glasses the moment they start recording.”
Cormier added that years spent in the spotlight tend to sharpen awareness of cameras and recording devices. In his view, it would be difficult for someone with Jones’ experience to miss those signals.
Cormier believes Jones wanted the injury public
After laying out his doubts, Cormier made his central claim about the incident. “I think Jon Jones knew what he was doing, and that he wanted people to know he’s injured.”
Jones had revealed that his hip is covered in arthritis and that he has already qualified for surgery. The admission has intensified speculation about whether he will compete again.
Although skeptical about how the footage became public, Cormier acknowledged the injury itself may be genuine.
“For the first time, I actually believe that he might have some true issues with his hips. I believe Jon Jones is hurt.”
Cormier suggested fans should begin preparing for the possibility that Jones’ time in the Octagon is nearing its end. The arthritis diagnosis has now cast significant doubt over any potential comeback plans.
