The Detroit Lions will hold OTAs in Allen Park on Thursday, but according to head coach Dan Campbell, they will be without a pair of cornerbacks.

Prior to practice, Campbell spoke to the media and he announced that both Ennis Rakestraw and Rock Ya-Sin will not participate due to illness. Campbell noted that a bug is currently making its way through the Lions facility in Allen Park.

This is a big year for Rakestraw, as he has dealt with a ton of injuries over his first two years in the league. If he can stay healthy and become what the Lions thought he would be when he came out of Missouri, it will be a big addition for the secondary.

While missing a day of OTAs is not a major concern in early June, Lions coaches would undoubtedly prefer to have as many players on the field as possible as preparations for the 2026 season continue. For Rakestraw in particular, every rep matters as he looks to put an injury-plagued start to his NFL career behind him and carve out a significant role in Detroit’s secondary.

The good news is that neither absence appears to be long-term, and the Lions will hope to have both cornerbacks back on the practice field soon.
