The Detroit Lions have a new motto for 2026

The way the Detroit Lions have operated all offseason feels a little… different. After last season’s disappointing 9-8 campaign, Lions coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes have seemingly approached their jobs differently, making little tweaks to their routines. Holmes skipped the owners meetings to hunker down with NFL Draft preparation and opted to not hold a local pro day. Campbell nixed joint practices this year, and their spring schedule was a little different than normal.

Most offseason, the mantra has been something close to what the Lions’ extremely simple schedule release video projected: “Strictly business.”

But during an appearance on Fox 2 Detroit’s training camp special on Wednesday, Campbell revealed another motto for the season that he would soon be sharing with the team.

“I haven’t told the team this yet, but it’s like, man, I want some R&R. And you’re like, what are you talking about? Man, Redemption and Respect. That’s what this league’s about,” Campbell said, per 97.1 The Ticket’s Will Burchfield.

I don’t know about you, but I love it. Redemption and Respect.

Burchfield has a nice breakdown of Campbell’s media appearance on Fox 2. As of right now, it doesn’t appear that full interview is available to watch anywhere online, but as soon as it is, we’ll update this post with a link.
