There are some reports out there that D-Hop has a chance to play this week. Conventional wisdom is that if he is still on crutches, he can't possibly be healthy.

I mentioned that Kliff doesn't seem to do this sort of thing, but it would be interesting if we will have D-Hop and Watt back, even if they aren't 100%.

I think this is a Pipe dream.

Has anyone heard anything from Gambo? Supposedly he was going to give a "percentage" update today on how likely it is that he plays against the Rams.

Not really, slings and crutches are expected if a guy is going to be standing or their posture stationary for three hours for instance on the sidelines regardless of the actual progress of the condition (and remember these guys are like Ferraris to our Ford Escort in how they are cared for)... but I still doubt D-Hop will be ready due to his injury, if one believes all that's reported or done by the media

For what?
You are only allowed to be so deceitful your injury report status. (which hasn't come out yet, so it is kind of a moot point) If a guy is expected to play, you can't put them on Questionable or Out for example. Especially in such a high profile player.

But what does that have to do with him being on crutches on the sideline?

This entire thread is about speculation and how close he is to actually coming back...

Gambo just said right now is about the timeframe for Hop to start doing stuff on the field. He said he has a chance to play against the Rams, even if it is not likely. He did say if we beat the Rams and advance to the divisional round that it becomes more likely he will actually return.

He went under a knife the week leading into Christmas. I just pulled my Christmas decorations down a week ago. He isn’t coming back this week. I don’t expect him back any sooner than the NFCC, and that’s being optimistic.

Nope. Not happening IMO. Not only are we not that good at poker...... The timeline just doesn't match up.

Yeah I've been saying We have to make the SB to have any chance at having him back.

Right, but why could the Rams file a grievance for Hop using crutches on the sidelines in a game he didn't play?
This is assuming a lot of things happen.

1. D-Hop is further along in his recovery than was ever reported.
2. Cards are/will be deceitful in their injury reporting of D-Hop.
3. He plays and has a major impact.

I should have been more clear in my original post about when they would file a grievance.

An aside but is the rule about disclosure entirely due to gambling? Surely it can't be competitive advantage because then coaches are admitting they aren't as worried about us because Hop is hurt and no coach would actually admit that. So is it just for betting?

ahh my first car. The Ford Escort Pony. Yes, The Pony. It’s like they were insulting anyone who actually bought that model. There’s the Mustang, then The Pony. Manual steering, manual windows, stick shift, would stall at lights, window constantly fell down, horn made a crazy sound. Loved that car.
