Just a short introduction today, what with it being an East coast day-game. I have much better things to do. Beginning with “going back to bed,” accompanied by a cup of coffee and whatever pastries Mrs. SnakePit bought at the supermarket yesterday. It’s not a day for going anywhere, if yesterday was anything to go by. It reached 119 F here, which was – at the risk of stating the obvious – too damn hot. I was informed there is supposed to be rain, but peering through the curtains has determined that to be a lie in our neck of the woods. Another day, another potential tie-breaker to be decided. The final game this year against the Nationals, and they currently have the edge in the season series, 3-2. Victory would thus render that all even, and move any potential tie to be decided by overall record against the rest of their division. Which is… Uh, too early and too many games remaining for that to be looked at, in any significant way. Besides, I hear those Danish pastries calling. Hopefully Kohl Drake’s sophomore start is as good as his debut, and the D-backs continue to push closer to a wild-card spot, and to making Mike Hazen go into ‘Buy’ mode.
