Cowboys Headlines: Liufau's big switch; Howell eyes QB2 job; Emmitt's shout-out for CJ2K

The Cowboys will report to training camp in Oxnard in three weeks' time, and several players will be looking to change the perception about them and maybe leave the West Coast with a very different reputation than they one they arrived with. Marist Liufau, for example, has already been labeled a bust by some observers. But switching from linebacker to edge rusher in a new-look defense, it's possible the third-year man is only just now tapping into his strengths. Elsewhere on the roster, Sam Howell hopes to overcome his third-stringer tag and make a real run at the QB2 job. And Javonte Williams will seek to get ESPN just to notice him after the network snubbed the 1,000-yarder from a list of the league's top running backs.

Today's headlines reveal that Brian Schottenheimer would have stayed in Dallas even as offensive coordinator, Emmitt Smith shows his ice-cold support for fellow bellcow back Chris Johnson, and former Cowboys defensive end Marcellus Wiley is denying the serious allegations of domestic violence brought against him over the weekend. Also, could Donovan Wilson and Jadeveon Clowney still return as summertime reinforcements?

Looking at several other big names seemingly on the move around the league, cornerback Terrion Arnold is now free to sign with any team that wants to take a chance on him. Ex-Cowboy Trevon Diggs could still draw interest from a club with secondary holes, and Brandon Aiyuk gets some big-brother tough love from a Super Bowl champion-turned-broadcaster as he appears dead-set on burning as many bridges as possible.

Also, we're looking at each team's most intriguing newcomer (hint for Dallas: no one said he had to wear a helmet), a new mock draft has the Cowboys headed back to Notre Dame for linebacker help, and if the Pope just accidentally leaked the Bears' new alternate uniforms... is it a sin?
