Huh? The hold is like way in the endzone. There's an article in the 49ers local site where they asked Jones about it and he literally admits it was a hold in the endzone on Puni.

After the game, Puni described Jones' initiative -- despite being San Francisco's No. 2 quarterback entering the 2025 NFL season -- to lead the team to a gutsy Week 3 win to improve to 3-0.

"He came in, commanded the huddle. There was no shakiness about him," Puni told reporters about Jones' presence. "He said the safety was on him. I said, 'Mac, don't even. That's completely on me.'

"But the fact that he's coming up to me and saying that just shows about his leadership. He's just a great guy, and I'm glad he got his redemption drive."

I originally thought the same as cheese because there was a hold on the same players before they get into the endzone, but watching the replay, as the play progressed, there was a second hold (same two players) in the endzone. The ref obviously only saw the second one. So it was a legit safety.

I still don't get why ours wasn't a safety too they said part of the ball was over the endline so I guess that's it but never knew that to be the rule
The entire ball has to be in the end zone for it to be a safety. K1 clearly had the ball in his hand at the half yard line when he let it go

Yeah I just never knew that was the rule. I thought 2 feet firmly in the endzone it didn't matter where the ball was when thrown but I guess it's consistent with breaking the plane to get in
