Bring on the Cats Staff Memories

Drew: John Sua is another player who graced the field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium before I jumped on the K-State bandwagon, but his path to Manhattan is familiar. The former junior college star bet on himself, walked on at K-State, and played a crucial role on one of the best teams in program history. Bill Snyder needed an immovable object in the middle of his defense, and at 6’0”, 290+ with a center of gravity around ankle level, Sua fit the bill. Sua was vastly overshadowed on that squad, with Meshak “I’ll just tackle you both” Williams and Ryan Mueller on his flanks and Arthur Brown and Justin Tuggle reaping all the rewards of Sua’s work.

You don’t get to #1 in the BCS rankings with a chump in the center of your defensive line, though.
