Free agency update

"While the Suns wait to hear from Lue, they eventually will add a wing, too, and Devin Brown is interested in a veteran minimum deal with Phoenix.

Gordan Giricek's agent, Marc Fleisher, said Giricek wanted to return to Phoenix but not for a minimum deal. He said Giricek is close to taking a rich European offer or one from one of four interested NBA teams."

Coro gave a nice quick Saturday morning free agency update. Looks like my dream is coming true: Devin Brown may in fact join. Very excited.

Say what you want. Argue what you want. Talk trash as much as you want. But you are getting a decent shooter who can actually make a three pointer. An above-average defender (although short) with quick hands. Fairly athletic. Solid decision.

Assuming Lue, Brown, Skinner sign:

C Shaq + Lopez
F Amare + Skinner
F Diaw + Hill + Tucker
G Bell + Barbosa + Brown?
G Nash + Lue + Strawberry

Actually, I really don't know where to stick Devin Brown on the depth chart given everyone stays and plays. AND they want Tucker/Straw to get a chance too - so I cannot see where Devin Brown will play and for how long.......

I'm not against signing Devin Brown, but why do you keep insisting that he's a good shooter? He's a lifetime 41% shooter from the field, 34% from three (35% was his best season ever in 06-07) and 75% from the free throw line. Those numbers are pretty pedestrian. If they sign him, it'll be because he's cheaper than Gordan, so its understandable.

Also, if you're going to crop articles, please post a link to the full article as well so we can see the rest of the article if we're interested.

Switch Tucker and Brown. I dont think Tucker has the size to defend bigger 3s and Brown is bigger than him as is.

I personally hope Sarver considers biting the bullet and give Giricek part of the MLE for like 2 years instead of devin brown vet min.

In sunsman's defense, he started with a label of great shooter, then went to shooter, and has now settled on decent shooter. Even though he is still wrong, at least he is attempting to compromise.

Rational adaptation of delusions is a sign of evolution, so Sunsman may actually be part human.

YouJustGotSunsd who ever called him a 'great' shooter? In his first year with extended play he shot 43% from the field, a horrid 28% from three, and an average-ish 81% from the line.

I didn't follow him when he was at UT-San Antonio, maybe he was a 'great' shooter there, but I don't ever recall anyone calling him (and the numbers reflect this) a 'great' shooter in the NBA.

I LIKE TO YELL LIKE BILL O'REILLY!!!

How was I supposed to know that? You didn't provide a link. Please learn to converse like a normal human being without bolding your entire post and coming across like a buffoon.

I've liked Devin Brown since he played for SA. He is an excellent pickup for the veteran minimum. However, his shooting stats are not that good especially from three point range. See link below.

Sunsman called him a great shooter. There is another thread where pretty much everyone else is bashing him for it.

THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO SEE WITH REGARDS TO THE FREE AGENCY UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CORO'S FREE AGENCY UPDATE WAS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SEE ABOVE. IT WAS NOT CROPPED!!!!!!!

THE ARTICLE BEFORE THIS WAS AN ASSESSMENT OF LOPEZ - COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THIS TOPIC.

THERE IS NO POINT IN GIVING A LINK. THE LINK IS ABOUT ROBIN LOPEZ AND THIS LINK HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED BY ANOTHER MEMBER IN A ROBIN LOPEZ THREAD: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2008/07/11/20080711suns0712.html

BUT THERE IS THE LINK ONCE AGAIN - TO SATISFY YOUR SUDDEN METICULOUS NEED FOR A LINK EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T NEED IT AND THINK I CROPPED THE ARTICLE OR SOMETHING.

(JUST TRYING TO PICK ANOTHER FIGHT, HUH?)

You obviously havent learned your lesson, have you?

haha you're a spurs fan.

I try to keep a list of players that I like in my head, just in case they should ever become available. I do this for most every NBA team. Having ongoing knowledge about different players is how trades are made and FAs are signed.

It's all Coro's fault :D

Coro says the Suns are looking for a shooter and in another statement says that Brown wants to be a Sun. 43 seems to think that him wanting to be a Sun makes him a great shooter. Coro should have realized there would be at least one English challenged reader who would be confused.

In a van...down by the river.
To be honest this forum had become a little stale in the weeks prior to Sunsman43 reappearing. He must feel a little like Amare during games.....getting targeted for personal fouls's based on his reputation.
