While many outside the organization have wondered why Cooper hasn't had a chance to showcase his stuff in recent weeks, the team has been steadfast in saying he hadn't proven he was one of the top five linemen.Cooper played 40 offensive snaps, but said there was a lot to correct.

"It was very apparent I had a lot of work to do," he said.

"It was an OK start, but I didn't grade out very well."

Paul Fanaika has missed the entire week of practice, it's safe to say Jonathan Cooper will be making his first start of the season at LG.

Cooper needs to play with better balance as he is always on the ground which is a huge negative in offensive line grading.

He did play well today in the running game

But he did blow some plays also. I saw him miss some blocks. Still raw.

Better than Larsen already.

at least i saw plays where he just let his oppenent run free to stanton ,i have a fear we throw away an high pick

he is worth a 3d or 4th round selection,i m not sure will be starter next season

He has a ways to go but you can see he can do things on the run game our other guards just can't physically do. His pass blocking is a work in progress and he does tend to lunge and get off balance which hurts him, but there is much to work with.

I suspect the people calling him a bust now will re think that by next season.
