Prior to rookie minicamp, the Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to contract terms with sixth-round draft pick, Navy safety Rayuan Lane. Over the Cap now has those contract details.
When it comes to rookie deals, the rookie wage scale sets the parameters, based on where the player was drafted, that puts in place a ceiling and a floor for how much each draft pick can earn over their standard four-year contract.

For Lane, who was the 200th overall pick, his total contract value over the four-year deal is $4.422 million and includes $222,176 guaranteed as a signing bonus.
From a cap perspective, that signing bonus amount will be prorated over the four years of the contract, in the form of a $55,544 cap hit each year.
In Year 1, Lane will earn a base salary of $840,000. In Year 2, it increases to $1.005 million, followed by $1.120 million in Year 3, and $1.235 million in Year 4.
Lane is an experienced collegiate player, with over 2,600 snaps. The majority of his snaps came at free safety, but he has experience lining up all over the secondary, including in the box and in the slot.
Lane has been stingy in coverage during his career, which includes allowing a completion rate of just 47% this past season. He's also had excellent ball production, with six interceptions and 12 pass breakups over the last two seasons, according to PFF.
With the Jaguars, Lane could be an immediate impact player on special teams and a developmental free safety option off the bench.
"The Jacksonville Jaguars have drafted a tremendous person, competitor and player," said Navy defensive passing game coordinator and safeties coach Eric Lewis via the team site.
"I firmly believe that Rayuan's best football is ahead of him, between his special teams ability, his coverage skills and his fearlessness in stopping the run. He has a huge upside as a football player because he has proven time and again while at the Naval Academy that he is not afraid to work. "
