LSU forward Aneesah Morrow and her relentless motor are captivating, and now she'll be taking her skills to the WNBA.

Morrow was selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft by the Connecticut Sun.

The 6-foot-1 Chicago native made a name for herself before she played basketball in the bayou. While in high school, Morrow led Simeon to an impressive 35-2 record and brought home a state championship in 2020. She continued her dominance at DePaul where she added 53 double-doubles to her resumé and set the DePaul single-season record for rebounds (457). During her sophomore season, Morrow averaged 25.7 points and 12. 2 rebounds per game, good for fourth and seventh in the country, respectively.

Under head coach Kim Mulkey at LSU, Morrow had 22 double-doubles in her junior season, which ranked fifth nationwide, and 93 steals, tied for third in program history. However, her final season became her shining moment. The 22-year-old earned the Katrina McClain Award as the nation’s best power forward, and several other honors, including 2025 First Team All-SEC. Morrow was LSU's leading scorer (18.7 points per game) and amazingly led the country in rebounds per matchup (13.5) and double-doubles (30). She finished her collegiate career third in NCAA Division 1 history in rebounds (1,714) and second in double-doubles (104).

Morrow's undeniable motor earned her an invite to the 2025 WNBA Draft, where she was selected in the first round.

"I think whichever franchise is fortunate to end up with her is getting a really talented player...", Dallas Wings general manager Curt Miller recently said. "Rebounding has translated, and players that rebounded in college ended up rebounding in the pros. One of the things that you have, that just pops off the chart when she leads the nation in rebounding, is she goes and gets the ball. She's undersized, so it talks about tenacity; it talks about desire ... All of us are looking to add dogs to our locker room. I think we all believe that she'll be a dog in a locker room."
