Yeah - I think Pops wants his past approach to work...good big-man play inside with slashing guards and spaced 3pt shooters coupled with rough, physical lock-down defense...but he doesn't have the talent so far and he has not figured out how to adjust.
Bonner is a no-show so far, and while Jefferson is talented, he is not a great fit for the Spurs style. He had a good game 2, but it didn't seem to assist the rest of the team's flow. It just kept them from being down more.
Hill is a nice player, be he's no Bruce Bowen.
I just think they have a different set of pieces that don't mesh as well as in the past, and their big 3 are older and, while still really good, not able to win it all by themselves against a really deep, talented and hungry Suns team.
Again, so far. No jinxes here! It could all change on their home court.
No whammies, no whammies!
