Despite the Raiders' abysmal season, there are still some respected coaches in their ranks. Chief among them in defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. The longtime NFL assistant has spent the past four years a the DC in Las Vegas. Now the Commanders would like to interview him to be the DC in DC.
The Raiders' defense has been middle-of-the-road the past three seasons in terms of yards allowed. And they have done so largely without a lot of talent on the team other than Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby.
Graham is respected enough that last year there was even some buzz about him as a head coach candidate. And while that never really materialized, Pete Carroll came in as head coach and held onto Graham as DC along with most of his defensive staff. Antonio Pierce did the same the year before when he took over as head coach.
The Commanders fired their DC Joe Whitt during the season and head coach Dan Quinn took over the job, pulling double duties. Meanwhile Quinn returns after a disappointing 5-12 season after losing starting QB Jayden Daniels in week seven.
