Washington Commanders offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil is quietly one of the best agents out there. No, he's not really an agent, but he does not use his own agent and instead represents himself. In doing so, he has successfully negotiated two trades and several contract extensions that kept him from entering the free-agent market. Being a top offensive lineman certainly helps, but he negotiated himself into another milestone in 2026.

Tunsil was the first offensive lineman to earn a $20 million contract, the first to earn a $25 million contract, and now a $30 million contract. This makes him the highest-paid player at his position, which CBS Sports acknowledged in a recent article naming the highest-paid player at each position.

OT: Laremy Tunsil, Commanders ($30.1M)Signed in: 2026 | Signed through: 2028Total contract: 2 years, $60.2 millionLaremy Tunsil was the No. 13 overall pick in 2016, selected by the Miami Dolphins. He then went to the Houston Texans before joining the Commanders in 2025. His resume includes five Pro Bowl honors and he has started all 139 games he's played in.

A former first-round draft pick. Five Pro Bowl selections. A member of the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2016. A stand-out player who is reliable, durable, and is one reason the Commanders' offensive line saw improvement in 2025.

In representing himself, Tunsil has learned to leverage his worth quite well. He understands his value, and he's not willing to share a cut of his pay with an agent. Now he's the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Of course, being good at your job and not missing a ton of time plays a role, and starting all 139 games he's appeared in definitely makes a difference.

The Commanders want to keep this talented lineman protecting Jayden Daniels as long as he is able. Right now, his contract makes him a free agent after the 2028 season, but we'll see if he actually hits free agency or not when that time comes.
