The Columbus Blue Jackets have been eliminated from playoff contention.

The Montreal Canadiens beat the Carolina Hurricanes in a must-win game to close out their season.

The Blue Jackets will face the New York Islanders on Thursday in their final game, which no longer carries any playoff implications. However, they'll still battle hard to keep their winning streak alive and finish the season on a high note.

The Blue Jackets fought hard to stay in the mix, and unfortunately, they fell just one game short. But they’ll be back. It was a strong year of growth, and they’ll only get better from here.
