Over the past few seasons, NFL players across the league have voiced their opinions and preferences regarding playing on turf as opposed to natural grass in stadiums leaguewide. Indianapolis Colts' Pro Bowl running back Jonathan Taylor was the latest to chime in. Here's what Taylor posted on X Friday evening:

"Natural grass isn't out of reach. Prioritizing players shouldn't be either! We're #WorthTheCost".

Currently, there are 30 venues for NFL football, and the split is identical for teams using artificial turf vs. natural grass. However, getting natural grass into places like AT&T Stadium, Gillette Stadium, Lumen Field, NRG Stadium, SoFi Stadium, or MetLife Stadium wasn't an issue for the World Cup, proving it would be attainable to change the field ahead of this upcoming NFL season.

The reason players like Taylor have spoken up is their belief that injuries increase on turf playing surfaces, specifically prioritizing ACL and Achilles. Notably, Colts' starting quarterback Daniel Jones tore his Achilles on a drop back in a Week 14 loss last season to the Jacksonville Jaguars

Lucas Oil Stadium is currently one of the 15 stadiums that has artificial turf. Playing on turf gives the playing surface consistency all around the field, but some feel it may come at a cost of higher injury rates, and longer recovery times following games.
