The Indianapolis Colts announced that linebacker Joe Bachie has been placed on injured reserve.
Bachie will now have to miss a minimum of four games.
This move comes on the heels of the Colts' announcement that they signed linebacker Germaine Pratt, which then required a corresponding roster move to be made in order to make room on the 53-man.
Bachie signed with the Colts earlier this offseason as a free agent. He joined the team with ample experience in Lou Anarumo's defense, having played under the defensive play caller in Cincinnati.
Bachie has started all five games this season at linebacker next to Zaire Franklin. However, that WILL linebacker role has been heavily rotated, with Austin Ajiake and Chad Muma seeing regular snaps as well.
On the season, Bachie has made 21 of his 23 tackle attempts. More of his playing time has come against the run than the pass.
In coverage, he's allowed 17 completions on 17 targets, according to PFF, surrendering 9.8 yards per catch.
Along with his defensive contributions, Bachie has also been a regular on special teams.
