INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have finally added a veteran with starting experience to a linebacker room in transition.

And to nobody’s surprise, he has a history with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Indianapolis is signing veteran linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither, who started 13 games for the Cardinals in his lone Arizona season after spending five years as a rotational linebacker for Anarumo in Cincinnati.

The Colts likely have more moves coming at linebacker this offseason. Indianapolis traded longtime middle linebacker Zaire Franklin to Green Bay this offseason and hasn’t brought back veteran weak-side linebacker Germaine Pratt, leaving little experience at the position.

Davis-Gaither made 117 tackles for Arizona last season, but he struggled in coverage for the Cardinals.
