The transfer portal era in college football has brought many new twists, including the ability for players to move schools before ever taking a step on the field for their original school.
Today, that chaos worked in Colorado's favor as they picked up cornerback Noah King, a true freshman defensive back from Kansas State. Standing at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, he is ranked the No. 26 cornerback in the 2025 class and a top 7 ranked player in the state of Ohio according to 247Sports.
King becomes the Buffs' fourth transfer portal commitment in the last 24 hours as head coach Deion Sanders continues to replenish his roster following significant offseason turnover.
King is a four-star recruit out of Hamilton High School, where he finished his senior season with 41 tackles, four pass breakups and a lone interception. As a freshman, King won't be expected to contribute right away, but he adds depth to a secondary that will need it after losing Travis Hunter to the NFL.
King is the latest in adds to the Buffaloes defense, joining safety Terrance Love and cornerback Teon Parks as post-spring game commits. Colorado's secondary can be a cut above last season, but the Buffs will need improvements from several unproven players this year.
The commitment also moves Sanders one cornerback away from checking that position off his list, which he shared after Colorado's spring game. After that game, Sanders said he wanted three corners from the transfer portal, so it's safe to assume he isn't done adding to his roster.
