Colorado men's basketball lost three of its top four players to the transfer portal this offseason. One of those was star point guard Isaiah Johnson, who committed recently to Texas. Now, another one of those departures has found a new home.
Forward Sebastian Rancik, who has two more seasons of eligibility remaining, committed to Florida State Sunday morning.
The 6-foot-11 forward started in 26 of his 29 appearances for the Buffaloes this past season. He averaged 12.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.1 minutes per game. He shot only 40.4% from the field but a solid 33.1% from 3-point range.
Rancik chose the Seminoles over many suitors, most notably Kentucky, whom he visited a couple of weeks ago.
Tad Boyle and the Buffs likely need to find a replacement for Rancik, considering his scoring prowess and the lack of talented wing options currently on the roster. Colorado has made one addition so far in the NDSU transfer center, Noah Feddersen.
